So I get to graduate with my Bachelors Degree in a few weeks and I got my outfit and shoes.  All the good stuff.  Well one of the things that I didn't find that I know I need is a purse.  With my dress I got this cute little jacket that has ruffles on the side.  So I went looking for cute purse patterns to make to match and I came across a Ruffle Purse pattern from Red Heart Yarn.  I copied the body of the purse, but wasn't that into the wooden handles.  So instead i decided to crochet handles.   I have one half of the purse completed.  Here is the Red Heart picture

and here is my version of the purse.

So here is a first piece:

This piece is made with glass and shells with a glass main piece that looks like a lily.  This piece has matching earrings.

The next piece is made with crystals with crystal drops, the pendant is a flower fashioned from Lucite held in place with a gold findings

So its been a few days since I had the time to post.  School has been crazy and I just got done with a conference for school yesterday were I presented a paper about Elvis Presley one of my favorite singers.  So since I have a few free minutes before I have to start more homework (oh yea) I wanted to show a few pieces that I have created.  Soon I will start putting up tutorials on basic crochet and some easy to do jewelry patterns.  But for today here is another completed project.  This one was made for my friend Christina who loves giraffes.

Its made with baby yellow yard for softness.  I took a hat made with Half-Double Crochets and then using dark brown yarn and finished it off with a single crochet.  I then used rounds to make the head bobbles (not sure what to call them, they aren't exactly antennae)  and the same for the ears that I just increased and decreased.  I then sewed everything thing on as even as I could.  If anyone is interested in how i created this hat let me know and I will create a tutorial for it.

And to go along with my last post, here is the Android that I made for my husband for his birthday.  I only finished last night so I haven't added eyes yet.  They will be white when I get to them.  Hopefully soon, my craft room is just a disaster, so I can't get to my beads just yet.  Hopefully my next project to upload will be a brand new piece of jewelry.  You can always find my pieces  online at Facebook under Serenity by Amanda.

Let me know what you think of this little friend.

Alright, here is a hat that i did for my husband John.  It is the Android Droid.  It is done in Red Heart Super Saver Spring Green and Red Heart Super Saver White.  Once I have time I plan to line it in fleece since sometimes yarn on the forehead can get itchy.  The lining will be lime green similar to the yarn.   I stuffed the antennas with fiberfill to get them to stand up.

Those are my eyes peaking out from beneath but just ignore that.  Let me know what you think :)

Since its just the beginning I thought that I should also add in a piece of jewelry as well.  My jewelry can also be found on Facebook under Serenity by Amanda.  All of the pieces listed on the website are for sale unless it says otherwise.  Email me at serenitybyamanda@yahoo.com for prices.

This piece is natural stone with a wooden pendant

Here is one of the projects that I did for one of my students for her first birthday.  She loves it completely and likes to carry it around by the nose in her mouth.  I started with rounds to make the nose and then worked in the backloops to create the depth.  If you are interested in the pattern let me know.  I designed it myself after looking at about 20 pig crochet patterns and not liking any enough.  i also crocheted the flower that is attached to the ear.

Lets get this started

Here is a first time at having a blog.  I want to share projects and ideas with people and help anyone with questions on Crochet, Floral Design, Counted Cross Stitch and Jewelry Design.
